Catch them on the Main Stage — October 19th at 3:00pm and October 20th at 4:30pm.
Adaawewigamig means place of trade/selling in Anishinaabemowin.
Their storefront is an Indigenous owned and operated social enterprise that aims to support the ongoing community, land based and advocacy work of Assembly of Seven Generations. Each item you purchase goes back to supporting Indigenous artists, businesses, and youth.
They also host various workshops in our community space open to Indigenous youth. They have hosted jewelry making, ribbon skirt making, medicine pouch making & painting workshops.
Since opening on 2022, they have hosted over 5 fashion shows to showcase Indigenous designers, beauty and music. Organically, a majority of the designers and artist that they work with are Indigenous women and 2spirit folks. It is the women and 2spirit folks who are the foundations and builders of community.
During Adaawewigamig’s fashion shows, you can expect to see some of the most beautiful designs by Indigenous women across Turtle Island.
