SATURDAY COMEDIENNE – Anjelica Scannura

Splitting her time between NYC and Toronto, Anjelica is a comedian who won the 2024 Boston Comedy Festival, becoming the first Canadian woman to achieve this honour. She has performed at top venues, including Massey Hall and The Wilbur, and has taped segments for the Winnipeg Comedy Festival and Don’t Tell Comedy. Her EP with Just For Laughs Originals is available on all streaming platforms and can be heard on Sirius XM Comedy Club.

She has opened for Shane Gillis, Joe List, Stavros Halkias, Rachel Feinstein, and Jay Pharaoh. Her festival appearances include headlining the Cleveland Comedy Festival, Rogue Island Comedy Festival, Edmonton Comedy Festival, Limestone Comedy Festival, West End Comedy Festival, 10,000 Laughs Festival, Laughing Skull Comedy Festival, and Just For Laughs Toronto.

Anjelica’s acting credits include Disney’s Camp Rock, CTV’s Satisfaction, CBC’s Frankie Drake Mysteries, and Netflix’s Little Italy.

 
SUNDAY COMEDIENNE – Martha Chaves

Martha Chaves is a Latin Canadian, award-winning stand-up comedian, actor, and comedy writer. Daryl Jung from Now Magazine called her “Witty, sassy, provocative, and very funny.” In 2023, TLN named her one of North America’s Ten Most Influential Hispanic Canadians.

Her infectious, candid style and natural ability to relate to a wide range of audiences make her a popular headliner at clubs, festivals, fundraisers, corporate functions, and keynote speaking engagements.

Her TV credits include multiple appearances in the Just For Laughs, Winnipeg, and We Are Funny That Way Festivals, to mention a few, and her two national comedy specials, Something About Martha on CTV and the Comedy Network and Comics! on the CBC.

Martha can often be heard on CBC Radio’s The Debaters and Laugh Out Loud and is a cast member of CBC’s Because News. Her album Chunky Salsa is available on all platforms and can be heard on Sirius XM.
